A pair of dice is rolled. What is the probability that a 1 shows up on the first one and an odd number shows up on the second one?

    A: 1 shows up on the first one. Probability: 1/6

    B: Odd number shows on the second one. Probability 1/2

    P (A*B) = P (A) * P (B) (since they are independent from one another) = 1/12
