    If the integers are of different signs, then clearly, one integer would be positive and the other would be negative.

    Hence, the quotient is negative.

    If the integers are of same sign say positive, then the quotient is positive.

    If the integers are of same sign, say negative, then we can cancel out the minus sign in the numerator and in the denominator and the quotient is positive.
