    the pythagorean theorem is a^2+b^2=c^2

You have a and c already, so its 5^2+b^2=13^2

    13^2 equals 169. 5^2 equals 25.

    You now have 25+b^2=169

    169-25=144

The square root of 144 is 12.

The other leg is 12 units
