    l=11.25 (total of both lengths, you divide that by 2 for one side.)

    Step-by-step explanation:

    l*w=20 ft

    l=w+2 1/2 ft

    w+2 1/2 * w = 20

    -2 1/2

    2w=17 1/2

    divide by 2

    w=8.75 l = 11.25

    8.75+2.5 = 11.25
