    First store:

    x=price of the purchase.

    x-50 % x=$25

    x - (50/100) x=25

    Least common multiple=100

    100x-50x=2500

    50x=2500

    x=2500/50

    x=50

    he saved $25

    Matt spend $50-$25=25$ in the first store.

    Second store:

    x=money spent in the second store.

    44% of x=$22

    (44/100) x=22

    x = (22*100) / 44

    x=50

    Matt spent in the second store $50

    Matt spend in all at the tow store=$25+$50=$75

    Answer: $75
