Find the least common multiple or LCM

Hot dogs are sold in packages of 8, and hot dog buns are sold in packages of 12. What is the smallest number of each that could be purchased so that the customer has the same number of hot dogs and buns?

    Answer: 3 packages of hotdogs and 2 packages of buns

    Explanation:

    number of hotdogs = 3 * 8 = 24

    number of buns = 2 * 12 = 24

    These are the minimum number of packages to have the same amounts of each.
