niles casts a shadow that is 8 feet long and at the same time his dog casts a shadow that is 30 inches long. If niles 5 1/2 feet tall, how tall is his dog? Round to the nearest tenth

    Let d be the height of the dog. Then, in inches:

    66/96=d/30

    96d=1980

    d=20.625 inches as the height of the dog.
