Let n be there number of nickels, p be there number of pennies, and d be the number of times. the total value is

p+5n+10d=52

n=d+2

p=3n

p=3d+6

3d+6+5d+10+10d=52

18d+16=52

18d=36

d=2

n=d+2=4

p=3n=12

12 pennies+4 nickels+2 dimes is 52 cents
