Y = - 2 x + 7; y = 5 x - 7

    Do you need to solve for x?

    As the both equal y, they must both equal each other so

    -2x+7=5x-7

    Add 2x to both sides

    7=7x-7

    Add 7 to both sides

    14=7x

    Divide both sides by 7

    2=x

    X=2
