    Lets x = # of hours

    Powersports Plus: $30 an hour plus a non-refundable deposit of $50.

    Write an expression to show how to calculate the cost of Powersports Plus.

    30x + 50

    Sun & Surf: $20 an hour plus a non-refundable deposit of $80.

    Write an expression to show how to calculate the cost of Sun & Surf.

    20x + 80

    Next, set the 2 expressions equal to each other.

    30x + 50 = 20x + 80

    Solve:

    30x + 50 = 20x + 80

    10x = 30

    x = 3

    Two companies cost Kyle the same amount of money at 3 hours
