    (x-3) * (2x^2-3x-1)

    = x * (2x^2-3x-1) - 3 * (2x^2-3x-1)

    distribute

    2x^3 - 3x^2 - x - 6x^2 + 9x+3

    combine like terms

    2x^3 - 9x^2 + 8x+3

    Answer:2x^3 - 9x^2 + 8x+3
