    solve for y

    6x + 4y = 8

    subtract 6x from each side

    4y = - 6x+8

    divide by 4 on all sides

    y = - 6/4 x + 8/4

    y = - 3/2 x + 2

    the slope is - 3/2

    Answer: - 3/2
