    This is system of equations and as such there are two methods of solving: elimination and substitution. Luckily Y is already isolated here, so in this case we just have to put in the value of y into 3x + 2y = 6

    To do this we simply do:

    3x + 2 (-3/2+5) = 6

    Distribute the 2 into the brackets

    3x + - 6/2 + 5 = 6

    Move the 5 over and simplify the fraction

    3x + (-3) = 1

    Move the three over.

    3x = 4

    Isolate x

    x=4/3
