Nigel is thinking about majoring in business in college because with a bachelor's degree the starting salaries are about $48,000 per year. If a master's degree will allow him to start out at about 15 percent higher, how much can he expect his starting pay to be with a master's degree?

    You find out how much 15% of 48,000 is which is 7,200. Then you do 7,200+48,000=55,200.
