The square of a number minus 5 equals 220. What is that number?

The square of a number plus the same number is equal to 306. What is that number?

    The square of a number minus 5 from it should equal 220. This means if we add five in 220 it gives us 225 which should be the square of sum number. SO under root of 225 is equal to 15.

    Again this mean xr ^ 2 + x = 306. If we solve this we get 17 as our answer as square of 17 is 289 and if we add 17 to it that becomes 306 which is our desired answer.
