As we know the area of rectangle is the product of its width and length.

Suppose if Length = a and Width = b then area of the rectangle is

    Area of Rectangle = Length x Width = a x b

Now as given in the question, Width = 1.9 km and Length = 4.4 km

    Area of Rectangle = 4.4 km x 1.9 km = 8.36 square kilometers
