Roman is having some friends over after a baseball game. Ramons job is to make a vegetable dip. The ingredients for the recipe are given. 3/4 cup parsley, 1/3 cup dill, 6/8 cup scallions, 5/8 buttermilk, 1/2 cream cheese, 1/16 lemon juice.

Part A

Witch ingredient does Ramon use the greater amount of, buttermilk or cream cheese? Explain how you found the answer.

Part B

Ramon says that he needs the same amount of two different ingredients. Is he correct? Support your answer with information from the problem.

    Part A:

    He uses more buttermilk because your comparing 1/2 to 5/8, and half of eight is 4 so 1/2=4/8 and since 5/8 is bigger than 4/8 or half he used more buttermilk.

    Part B:

    Yes he is correct. The two different ingredients that he needs the same amount of are parsley and scallions. They are the same amount because if you took 6/8 (scallions) and reduced / simplified it by 2, you would get 3/4.
