A recipe requires 1/4 lb of onions to make 3 servings of soup. Mark has 1 1/2 lb of onions. How many servings can Mark make?

    1 lb has 4 quarter pounds in it and 1/2 lb has 2 quarter lbs in it so he has 6 quarter lbs of onions. 6x3 equals 18 He can make 18 servings of soup.
