3 gallon or 24 pint bottle.

    Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given a 20 1-pint bottle Conversion from gallon to pint is:

    1 gallon = 8 pint

    So, 2 gallon will have 8 x 2=16 pint

And similarly, 3 gallon will have 8 x 3=24 pint

So, he will need 3 gallon or 24 pint to fill 20 1-pint bottles. because if he will use 16 pint then 4 bottles will be left

hence, he will use 3 gallon to fill the bottles.
