    First to solve this you need to make 8% into a decimal and to do so move the. over to the left twice.

    8--->.08

    Now multiply 130 by. 08

    130 (.08) = 10.4

    So the tax is $10.40

    Now add 10.4 to 130

    10.40+130=140.40

    So the total cost for Nicks sneakers is $140.40

    All you would have to do is 130*8%=10.40. Therefore the answer is 10.40
