First we know he received a commission of 10% on all worth he sold given by 10% of 3500 = 10%*35000 = 10/100*3500=350

Then the total earnings are 500 thus money per hour is

    total earned - commission = 500-350=150

And this money was 10% of hours worked so we now ask ourselves if 10% was 150 what about 100%

    10%=150

    100% * ? then we cross - multiply

    (100%*150) / 10% = 1500
