    Example: 5 x 12

We know that 12 is the same thing as 6 x 2, which is the same thing as 3 x 2 x 2

    So the problem is actually 5 x 3 x 2 x 2

    I would go (5 x 2) x (3 x 2)

    Then you have 10 x 6

    Which is 60
