How would you solve 7x-1/2 (8x+2) = 6

    In order to clear the fraction you would times it by 2 which will cancel out the 1/2 which leaves you with 7x - (4x+1) = 6 you would multiply everything in the parenthesis due to a negative 1 being in front of it which gives you 7x-4x-1=6 from their combines likes terms which is 3x-1=6 you would move the constant to the right and change the signing leaving you with 3x=7. then you would divide by 3 on each side and answer should be x = 3/7
