    Inductive Reasoning is a method of coming to a conclusion whereby a general statement is reached from specific results. For example, I pulled out an apple from a box, the fruit I pulled out next was also an apple therefore all the fruits in the box must be apples.

    Deductive Reasoning on the other hand, works by getting specific results from general statements for example, All Fruits are sweet. An apple is a fruit. An Apple is therefore sweet.

    Notice that for a statement to be considered Deductive or Inductive Reasoning there must be multiple premises. In the statement above there is no premise so we cannot judge it to be either Deductive or Inductive.
