If x-y=5 then how does y=-2x-4

    Based on my knowledge, you'd set both equations equal to y, and then set both sides equal to each other then solve.

    y=-5+x

    y=-2x-4

    -5+x=-2x-4

    then solve from there

    (this could be completely wrong, so don't only go by my opinion)
