What is the smallest of 3 consecutive even integers where the sum of the smallest and largest is equal to the middle term plus 82?

    X=first number

    X+2 = second number

    X+4 = third number

    X+x+4=x+2+82

    2x+4=x+84

    Subtract x from both sides

    X+4 = 84

    Subtract 4 from both sides

    X=80

    Smallest number is 80
