    Given: X - number of theft crimes

    Y - number of burglary crimes

    The given regression equation is

    ŷ = 1.37x + 110,383.27.

    We have to find x for given value of y = 112,450

    Using value of y in regression equation gives

    112450 = 1.37x + 110383.27

    112450 - 110383.27 = 1.37x

    2066.73 = 1.37x

    x = 1508.562

    So the number of theft crimes is 1508.56
