What do you do when you are trying to square something?

    The square of "something" is ... "something" multiplied by itself.

    Here are some examples:

    the square of 3 is ... 3² the square of x is ... x² the square of the sum of x and 1 is ... (x + 1) ²

    When we are trying to square a number say x, to x², then we multiply the number x with number of powers

    here since it is x² we multiply x * x

    if it is x³, then x * x * x
