A group of 19 students want to see the show of the planetarium. tickets cost $11 for each student who was a member of the planetariums frequent visitor program and $13 for each student who is not a member the total cost of the students tickets is $209.

Write an equation to determine the value of x explain what each part of your equation represents. How many students in a group or members of the frequent visitor program how many are not members?

    11x+13y=209

    x = members

    y = non-members

    -11x-11y=-209

    11x+13y = 209

    2y = 0

    y=0 non-members

    x+0=19

    x = 19 members

    Check: 19+0=19
