A store bought a diamond ring at a cost of 8000 and marked it up 25%. Tommy bought it and paid 15% sales tax. what was his total cost?

    You do 8000*.25 to get 2000

    then add 8000 to 2000 to get 10000

    then multiply 10000 by. 15 to get 1500

    then add 10000 to 1500 to get your answer which is 11500
