To package and ship an item, it cost $5.75 for the first pound and $0.75 for each additional pound. What is the cost of shipping a 12-pound package?

    5.75 for the first pound, then you have 11 pounds left, multiply. 75 by 11 to get the rest of your cost and then add that to the 5.75

    11 times. 75=8.25

    8.25+5.75 = 14

    your total cost would be 14 dollars
