For f (x) = x2 and g (x) = (x - 3) 2, in which direction and by how many units should f (x) be shifted to obtain g (x) ?

    F (x) = x²

    g (x) = (x-3) ²

    g (x) is a perfect square.

    x² should be shifted to the left by 3 units. This is because of (x-3) ²

    as you can see negative 3 is present. The negative sign means shifting x to the left by 3 units.
