Marcus has a rope that was 75 feet long. He cut off part of the rope. After that the rope was 56 feet long.

    at start he has 75 the he cuts off a length of rope and gives 56. and the unknown number that he cut off is f.

    so 75-f=56

    you can also find f, by moving f to the other side and moving the 56 to the left. 75-56=f

    so f = 19
