You are charged 6% sales tax. You purchase new bicycle and pay $27 in sales tax. what is the purchase price of the bicycle

    6% is equal to 6/100 or 0.06

    So, you have to pay the 27$ plus the taxes which is 6% of the 27$

    0.06 x 27 = 1.62$

    27+1.62 = 28.62$
