After adding all the segments of each and every trip we have a total amount of 72.5 miles. To get the average distance for all 5 trips we simply divide 72.5 into 5 equal parts. The final answer would amount to 14.5 miles. Final answer must be expressed as "the average distance for all segments of this trip would be 14 and a half mile per segment".
