Richard bought 3 1/4 ft of plumbing pipe. The pipe cost $1.60 a foot. How much did Richard pay for plumbing pipe?

    2 1/8=2.125 and 3 3/8=3.375 then let x represent the amount of money that he payed for felt. Next 2.125+3.375=5.5 then

    x=5.5*1.5

    x=8.25
