    The inside diameter of the pipe is calculated by subtracting twice of the wall thickness from the given outside diameter.

    In mathematical symbols that would be:

    ID = OD - 2T

    Substituting the known values,

    ID = (5 7/32 inches) - (2) (5/32 inches) = 4.9 inches

    Therefore, the answer is 4.9 inches
