    A = 1/2 (b) (h) well all you need to do is plug in what you have. and then isolate the left variable which is h. 36 divided by half of 6 is 12.

    Hi, lets remember Area = 1/2 base x hiegth so:

    A = 36in^2 = (1/2) x (2x)

    36in^2 = x^2

    6in = x, the base.

    Height is 12in. (2*6in)

    Checking the Answer

    (1/2) 6in*12in = 36in^2
