Given the function f (x) = 6 (x+2) - 3, solve for the inverse function when x = 21.

    The invese switches x and y so basically

    if

    f (21) = z then f⁻¹ (z) = 21

    therefor

    f (z) = 21 and f⁻¹ (21) = z

    basically solve for the value that makes the functino equal 21

    21=6 (x+2) - 3

    add 3 both sides

    24=6 (x+2)

    divide by 6

    4=x+2

    minus 2

    2=x

    answer is 2
