Frank lives 6 miles away from school. If he rode his bike 7/8 miles and walked the rest, how many miles did he ride his bike?

    We need to find 7/8 of 6. to do this we multiply them together. we write 6 as 6/1 and multiply across to get 42/8 or 5 2/8 simplified to 5 1/4 as a mixed fraction. Frank rode his bike 5 1/2 miles to school
