I had 7 donuts and I was supposed to have 10 so I made 2 more but the I still didn't have 10 so I made 1 more

How did the flower bloom? The first day, the flower grew a inch, the next day it grew 2inches then on the day after, it grew 3 inches. How many inches did it grow in all?
