During the rainstorm last week Jackson and his sister wanted to see how much water they could collect from the rain. In order to do this they put out 12 three-and-a-half liter containers to catch the water in. If all the containers got filled four times, how many liters of water did they collect in all?

    12 * 3.5 liter containers = 42 liters of available space

    42 * 4 = 168 liters collected.
