A farmer is building a pentagon (that is, 5-sided) pen to hold his animals. Each side has an equal length. What is the total perimeter of the chicken pen if the length of one side is 3 times the square root of 5 (Recall that the perimeter is the sum of each side of a shape or boundary).

    All you have to do is add up at the sides. So it will be 5 (3radical5) where the radical is just a fancy way of indicating square root. This is the same as adding 3radical 5 to itself 5 times. the answer you get would be the perimeter for the pen, since it is a pentagon, and that would be about 34 units
