The entire area of the felt is 15 x 15 = 225 square inches

The circle cut from the felt =

    circle area = PI * radius^2

    circle area = PI * 7^2

    circle area = 49 * PI

    49 * PI = 153.94

    Left over felt 225 - 153.94 = 71.06

    225 - 153.94 = 71.06

    71.06 felt is left over
