Find the equation of the circle in standard form for the given center (h, k) and radius r: (h, k) = (5, 4), r = 2

(x - 5) 2 + (y - 4) 2 = 4

(x + 5) 2 + (y + 4) 2 = 2

(x + 5) 2 + (y + 4) 2 = 4

(x - 5) 2 + (y - 4) 2 = 2

    If cente ris (h, k) and radius is r then

    equatn is (x-h) ^2 + (y-k) ^2=r^2

    so

    center (5,4)

    r=2

    h=5

    k=4

    (x-5) ^2 + (y-4) ^2=2^2

    (x-5) ^2 + (y-4) ^2=4

    first option
