The design for a patio consists of a square with a semicircle adjacent to one side of the square. the diameter of the semicircle equals the side length of the square. the side length of the square is 6 ft. what is the approximate area of the patio? use π≈3.14π≈3.14.

    The square is 6x6=36

    Area of a circle is pi times r^2

    (3.14) 3^2 = 28.26/2=14.13

    Add 36+14.13=50.13 sq ft
