Tim has a 24-foot piece of rope and a 36-foot piece of rope. He cuts the ropes into 3-foot pieces.

How many pieces of rope will Tim have?

    First we would add up his large pieces of rope so 24+36=60

    then we would divide that be 3 because that's the size pieces we are cutting them into so

    60:3=20

    Tim would have 20 pieces of rope
