The sum of 6 consecutive integers is 393. What is the third number in this sequence?

    So, let first be x

    then, second be x+1

    and so on ...

    so the eqn will be,

    x+x+1+x+2+x+3+x+4+x+5=393

    6x = 393-15

    x = 378/6

    x = 63

    so first no I 63

    second will be 64

    and third (your answer) will be 65!

    6x = 378

    Thus, x = 63.

    So the first is 63, the second is 64, the third is 65, fourth is 66, fifth is 67, and six is 68.
