Okay so we know the ratio of jeans sold is 5/1 so lets put that into an equation.

6,500 = $40 (5*x) + $60 (1*x) so lets solve for x.

so lets merge 40 (5x) + 60 (x) = 260 (x)

6,500 = 260 (x)

Divide both sides by 260. 6,500/260 = (260 (x)) / 260 = 25

so lets plug it in. 6,500 = 40 (5*25) + 60 (1*25) = 5,000 + 1,500 = 6,500.

So the answer is 25!
