Describe the steps used to compare the decimals

Look at where the decimal is placed

look at the numbers after the decimal and see if one has more digits above 0

if the same number, see which number right after the decimal is greater

look at which number before the decimal and see which one is greater

if both are the same (ex. 6.3_ and 6.3_)

keep going down until you find a number greater than the other
